Welcome all wood engravers!
We welcome all levels of experience embracing the curious, the collector, the student, the historian, the practitioner, and the pros. We want to bring energy to a printmaking medium that has been cast aside by industry and embraced by artists. We are interested in the history, the education and the practice of this absorbing medium – and we love to share with others!
Full members gain access to physical mailings and a wide variety of digital content and community support.
Members (and non-members) contribute articles, events, news and announcements for our semi-annual journal called the Block & Burin. As part of the twice-yearly journal, WEN organizes an optional exchange of original prints and related materials. These two items together have been dubbed a “Bundle”. Members receive our mailings twice a year; roughly in May and November and can access digital versions and bonus digital material on this website.
Membership provides opportunities for exhibition, print exchanges and bundle participation, as well as easy and centralized access to resources specifically for wood engravers.
